ABOUT

Monique M. Chouraeshkenazi, PhD, PsyD, MSCP (U.S. Air Force Combat Veteran)

Founder, CEO & Chief Clinical Neuropsychometrician, The Chouraeshkenazi Group

Dr. Chouraeshkenazi is an award-winning academic scholar, scholastic peer reviewer, international best-selling author, writer, professor, researcher, clinical neuropsychometrician, and professional speaker. She is a proud GWOT combat veteran, serving in the world’s greatest Air Force for 13 years.

In 2014, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi founded the MD Educational Consulting Firm, where she consulted with federal and local governments, universities, and organizations and provided program and curriculum development for constitutional law, criminal justice, homeland security, intelligence, international security, national security, public policy, psychology, research, and terrorism. In 2018, she revamped the company into The Chouraeshkenazi Group, specializing in mental healthcare, medicine, research, and education. Before transitioning to healthcare and medicine, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi was a national security expert for over 20 years. She still supports national and homeland security endeavors and plans to combine the fields with forensic neuropsychopathology.

Dr. Chouraeshkenazi is Professor of Psychology at American Public University System and American Military University and an Affiliate Professor in the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences at Tiffin University.

Before Dr. Chouraeshkenazi’s career in psychology, she served in the United States Air Force for 13 years. She was a Technical Sergeant, serving in the Information Management/Knowledge Operations and Security Management fields. She also had a dual role in antiterrorism and security positions. One of her most prominent and distinguished positions was serving as the Chief Special Security Officer for one of the largest intelligence units in the Combat Air Force. Dr. Chouraeshkenazi served in a dual role as Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge for the 451st Expeditionary Operations Group and Deputy Antiterrorism Officer for the 451st Air Expeditionary Wing in Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Further, she was selected as an Enlisted Military Assistant, Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and Acting Superintendent to the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Secretaries, the late Dr. Ashton Carter, Ms. Christine Fox, and Mr. Robert Work. Finally, she is the former Military Executive Assistant to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization Director, LTG John Johnson.

After 20 years as a homeland and national security expert, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi transitioned into clinical psychology, further pursuing her professional interest as a forensic and medical neuropsychopathologist. She is now an independent contractor and clinical neuropsychometrician. In this position, she completes all psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychopathological evaluation interviews, oversees test administrative practices, and completes evaluative reports for both practices’ psychiatric conditions of military service members, veterans, and their families, as well as children, adolescents, and adults.

In 2022, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi completed an APA-accredited postdoctoral research fellowship for George Mason University’s Center for Psychological Services Veterans Specialty. As a Fellow, she conducted independent medical evaluations and medical record reviews for the nation’s most extraordinary veterans and their family members.

Also, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship in clinical psychology at Woodbridge Therapy Group (WTG). In this position, she administered neuropsychological tests and assessments to examine adolescents and adults for academic achievement, cognitive capabilities, executive functioning, language abilities, attention and concentration, neurological screenings, substance screenings, trauma, socio-emotional, personality, behavioral, social skills, and adaptive functioning. She also provided therapy for children, adolescents, and adults suffering from mood, trauma, stress-related, and severe mental illnesses.

In 2020, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi completed a practicum program accredited by the APA at Prince William Family Counseling (PWFC). At PWFC, her responsibilities were performing mental health diagnostic assessments and providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families. She provided crisis intervention and client referrals per the practice’s guidelines. In addition, she participated in monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided to diverse populations. Furthermore, she helped treat patients through evidence-based therapeutic practices, specializing in CBT, Mindfulness, and DBT for those who suffered from anxiety and mood disorders, depression, ADHD, trauma, and stress-related issues. Also, she administered psychological testing and assessments for personality, achievement, language, intelligence, cognitive, neurocognitive, neuropsychological, executive functioning, attention and concentration, visual-motor, trauma-related, and substance use.

Dr. Chouraeshkenazi scored, interpreted, wrote reports, and provided feedback to patients, in addition to consulting and providing diagnoses on therapy cases under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Also, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi completed an APA-accredited program as an advanced doctoral extern at Woodbridge Therapy Group, providing the same services at an advanced level of clinical practice. In 2020, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi completed an advanced clinical and forensic neuropsychology externship for Comprehensive Neuropsychology LLC, an affiliate of the Virginia Pediatric Group in Northern Virginia.

As a pre-licensed professional, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi has completed over 200 test batteries and assisted with the interpretation and analysis of testing results under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Also, she has assisted with providing diagnostic information, recommendations, and feedback for report writing to establish treatment plan options. In therapy, Dr. Chouraeshkenazi ascribes to integrating theories of psychology that address feelings, thoughts, and behaviors through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) practices. She encourages patients to reflect on past experiences, identify current struggles, become aware of cognitive, behavioral, and relational patterns and psychosomatic reactions, and develop desired goals and treatment strategies.
